South Africans beamed proudly as Benoni beauty Charlize Theron deservedly took the Best Actress Oscar at the recent 76th annual Academy Awards for her role in the chilling 'Monster'. "I know everybody in New Zealand has been thanked," she said in her emotional acceptance speech. "So I'm going to thank everybody in South Africa, my home country."

Charlize jetted into South African heroine's welcome this week. President Mbeki sent a note saying: "We are all immensely proud of this, our South African daughter. We wish her well."

She can be heard chatting to South Africans from all walks of life on M-Net website http://www.mnet.co.za This is one of the few interviews she'll be conducting during what has been described as a low-key visit.
